About me

I have extensive experience working as a Counselling Psychologist and Psychotherapist in a variety of settings: As an undergraduate trainee psychologist I worked for three years in a psychiatric unit, offering psychological support to patients in the de-institutionalisation program. I also held an honorary placement in an acute psychiatric ward, offering counselling sessions to adult patients.

During my Doctorate training, I worked for three years in Specialist Addictions Services and Community Mental Health Teams, in the NHS, offering longer-term Integrative Psychological Therapies to adult patients. I also held a four year clinical placement with the charity CCF, offering long-term Psychodynamic Psychotherapy sessions to adults, and clinical assessments with new clients.

After completing my Doctorate training, I started my private practice in London, offering individual Psychotherapy and Group-therapy sessions.

In addition to my private practice, I am the Head of Counselling at Highbury Counselling Centre (HCC), operating a low-cost clinic for longer-term Counselling and Psychotherapy. Further to this, I have been working as a visiting lecturer in Counselling Psychology Doctorate programs in London. I also volunteer at Bubble and Speak, a drop-in group for children under 4 years old and their parents/carers.

Alongside my formal professional training and my time with patients, the most significant part of my formation has been my own personal Psychoanalytic therapy, and consistent engagement with process groups.
